Obituary
"Loving Husband & Father"
David James Kenney returned to live with his Father in Heaven on December 10, 2011 at the age of 32, after succumbing to injuries sustained in an auto accident. Before his passing, David received loving farewells from his wife Cristina; children Joshua (5) and Jasmine (2); parents Bruce and Jimae Kenney; grandparents James and Maydene Bodell; siblings Nicole and Erik Patterson, Elizabeth and Brian Kirkby, Benjamin and Katherine Kenney, Laura and Kevan Whipple, Alexander and Cindy Kenney; and 23 nieces and nephews.
"Our Rocket Scientist" and Eagle Scout was a perpetual learner, creator, and inventor.
David earned a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, graduating cum laude, and a Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering and Fluid Mechanics from the University of Utah. David loved to bring new ideas and creations to this world, which led him to work as an engineer at ATI Metals. From 1998-2000, he served an honorable mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Merida Mexico mission. While there, he developed a deep love for the people and culture of Mexico, which became a central part of his life.
David lived his life to bless others. He was a persistent optimist and constantly lifted those around him through his hope, faith, and love. His home was always open to family and friends. He loved music, running, photography, and casting endless friends and family in movies under his own label of Egg Productions.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 15th at 11:00 a.m. in the Cobble Creek Stake Center, 8150 South and Grizzly Way (5410 W) followed by interment at Larkin Sunset Gardens.
